Wow!!! Just got a pyscho burst of energy and elevated thought processes. Two slices. Easy peasy, just like Pi. It is called transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The slices were not figurative. Pain free surgery, well at least for me and for the last 3 surgical procedures. I don't have a clinical eval at present, but, the amount of blood my heart was capable of pumping was reduced from optimal. Somewhere like 30 to 35 percent efficacy. Now, I've got a new one, and, a little further information from my amazing NP as to what "weak heart" means. In my case it even involved knowledge I already had via my daughter's congestive heart failure at 6 days old. Reduced contractility. Means your muscle can't squeeze much. Those muscles remain in a state of semi rigor, incapable of relaxing in order to allow heart chambers to completely fill with blood for heart's next push. Guess what? Aortic valves were probably the model for the Tri Pods novel and tv series protagonists. They are 3 flaps

I met my new surgeon today and I'll be getting robot assisted laparoscopy in a real operating room rather than a back alley butcher job by a guy handing out fresh forms for just who and how I can have my plug pulled if it comes up. That's a relief.
My surgeon may not be my surgeon.
It seems that when your time is so money and you can't properly communicate with your patients, you send out a mailing. I got my mailing from potential surgeon #1 and he is so slick that he added MAC to my "office" surgery. That is monitored anesthesia control, which means being "under" sedation during the operation, not merely under local anesthetic. He also hit me with a bill unexpectedly since my insurance covers everything. Everything they'll let me do anyway. It doesn't cover an angiogram or anything truly revealing in that regard. If you're not aware, an angiogram actually maps any plaque deposits in your circulatory system, but, my insurance, good as it is, will only cover lipid levels and anti cholesterol meds which is just one more obeisance to big pharma. So, I called my insurance adjustor and he straightened out my potential surgeon about what he can or can't bill for. I'm waiting for an EKG on Thursday to allow my cardiologist to access just how improved or not my heart
Once more under the knife my friends.
Currently awaiting a nasty lil' operation to be undergone under local anesthetics. Apparently I'll be cut open and partially inflated for viewing purposes before a bit or so of me gets stuffed back under my abs and the abs blocked from those bits being able to get back out with mesh. Mesh but no lace and no one to melt with. Love Modern English!
